About UNCOMN.TV Network
WHAT IS UNCOMN.TV?
UNCOMN.TV Network LLC is an online technology company bringing together colleges, universities, employers, civic organizations and communities in Northeast Ohio to better inform individuals both locally and globally about what the region has to offer. The goal is to attract talent, business and resources to the region by demonstrating the rich economic assets and the quality-of-life in Northeast Ohio.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Relevant Content, Social Media & Collaborative Marketing: The Network combines the power of traditional TV, the global reach of the web and the interactivity of social networking to deliver content about living, learning and earning in Northeast Ohio. The Network partners with local educational institutions, employers and civic organizations to develop content - which currently includes original programs and community-generated videos.
This content is then marketed on a collaborative basis by the participating institutions and organizations through their electronic and traditional marketing Medias. The result is dynamic programming that harnesses the power of mass viral marketing and both attracts and engages a career and business-focused audience to our region.
NEXT STAGE TECHNOLOGY
Through an Ohio Third Frontier Grant, UNCOMN.TV has developed the prototype for the next-stage technology called "The ARC" (for Attract-Retain-Connect). The ARC Technology enables all the employers, educational institutions, civic, arts and cultural organizations to upload all form of content. This is then "Pushed" to individuals based on their specific education, career and community interests and needs. Watch a short three minute video HERE.
HOW ARE THE PROGRAMS ORGANIZED?
UNCOMN.TV Network has developed "Channels" of content. The Got*City GAME Channel features custom programs about great things to do and see in the cities of the region. The Flannel Channel highlights careers within industries the region is growing. The HotShot @ HotSpots Channel partners with regonal Young Professional groups to showcase the places and activities they think are "Hot" in their city. And, soon to launch is The City Channels for Cleveland, Akron, Canton and Youngstown. These City Channels give each city a way to aggregate community-generated videos around education, employment and community.
Got*City GAME! Cleveland, is the first produced program intent on showcasing fun locations within Cleveland. The program engaged over 150 colleges, universities, businesses and civic entities in the sponsorship and marketing. Within weeks Cleveland was being watched in over 1,065 cities in over 66 countries.
Flannel Channel, showcases 27 regional businesses, educational institutions and organizations who are educating and employing professionals in the region. Regional associations like NEOSA and SIM are collaborating with the Network to expand the educational outreach.
HotShots @ HotSpots, a collaboration with the Cleveland Professional 20/30 club has the club members showing what they think is "hot" about their city, Cleveland. The goal is to instigate "HotShots @ HotSpots" programs with clubs in Akron, Canton and Youngstown as well.
The City Channels, will be launched in April 2011 for the cities of Cleveland, Akron, Canton and Youngstown. These city-specific channels aggregate curated community-generated videos on subjects relating to that city's:
- neighborhoods/family life/ethnic groups/lifestyle
Future content will also include forums, blogs, podcasts, live webcasts of conference key-note speakers, webinars for workforce development and other areas yet to be explored.
Mission: Attract and retain talent in Northeast Ohio, through scholarships, internships and by leveraging collaborative community engagement to effectively create and sustain brain-gain resources and initiatives that positively impact the emerging workforce of 15-35 year old's.
A portion of the fore-profit Network proceeds and personal contributions are donated to the UNCOMNTV Foundation to support scholarships, internships and "collaborative community engagement" across Northeast Ohio.
The City Channels, provides a unique example of "Collaborative Community Engagement". The Foundation is aggregating community-generated videos from businesses, organizations and institutions across the region to be placed in the non-profit City Channels for Cleveland, Akron, Canton and Youngstown. The Network provides free space on the Network website, management services and drives viewer traffic for these city programs. Through this "Collaborative Community Engagement", each city is better able to demonstrate the unique assets it has to offer.
